God of War Laufey pre-orders open ahead of February 16, 2027 release

Santa Monica Studio announced on September 28, 2026 that pre-orders for God of War Laufey would open the next day, and detailed what comes with the game's pre-order bonus and Digital Deluxe Edition. The game is due on PlayStation 5 on February 16, 2027.

Release and pre-orders

"God of War Laufey is coming to PlayStation 5 consoles on February 16, 2027. We're excited to announce that tomorrow, September 29 at 10:00am local time pre-orders officially go live," the studio wrote on the PlayStation Blog. The post was written by Grace Orlady, communications director at Santa Monica Studio.

The PlayStation Blog post did not list prices for the editions.

Pre-order bonus and Digital Deluxe Edition

According to the PlayStation Blog, pre-orders include:

  • the Last Wish Armor Set
  • the Phranque Golden Leaves Appearance, a cosmetic item
  • an in-game resource pack

The studio says these items unlock in the game through story progression.

The Digital Deluxe Edition includes the Dark Alchemy Armor Set, Dark Alchemy Blade, Dark Alchemy Bow Scales and Dark Alchemy Catalyst, along with an in-game resource pack, a digital mini artbook and the official God of War Laufey digital soundtrack.

Faye's combat

The post also introduced new screenshots and footage of combat with Faye, a playable character, and her new weapon. "An enchanted bow with the shifting form of a serpent, Faye's new weapon in the Everywhen can go from dormant to notched at lightning speed, allowing her to weave deadly arrow strikes alongside her other attacks," the studio wrote. The Everywhen is described in the post as the afterlife of the gods.

In a precision aiming mode, players can "charge up the bow and stack up to five arrows for a powerful volley," according to the studio. In a hip-fire stance, Faye "can unleash a cluster of arrows for devastating damage to enemies at close range."

The studio closed the post by thanking fans: "On behalf of everyone at Santa Monica Studio, thank you so much for all the interest and support shown for the game since our reveal in June."

Why it matters

With pre-orders open and a fixed February 16, 2027 release date, Santa Monica Studio has now set out what buyers get with each version of God of War Laufey. The post also gives new detail on how Faye fights with her bow.
